Abstract EN

The problem of tense has been a challenging grammatical problem in linguistics because it leads to different connotations, interpretations, and the overlapping between tense and sentence structure.

Grammarians have expressed different views with regards to the tense denotative meanings of conditional sentences which mostly designate the future tense meaning.

However, other grammarians have excluded this topic and provided various interpretations.

The present paper accounts for the conditional clauses from a different perspective, namely, this grammatical case needs to be accounted for as a future tense case but it can also be viewed as a past tense case if it occurs in the progressive tense.
