Abstract EN

This study deals with the poem of al-Jabal (the Mountain), composed by the Andalusian Poet Ibn Khafājah, from a Stylistic point of view.

It attempts to analyse the poem’s phonetic, morphological, syntactical, and semantic levels, in order to reveal its deep structure.

Thus, the paper consists of the following: - An introduction: which contains some general information about the concept of stylistics, the life of the poet Ibn Khafājah, and the context in which the poem emerged.

- The main text: which contains four parts: 1) Part one: the phonetic level: a) First matter: repetition of certain sounds: • First issue: repetition of explosive sounds • Second issue: repetition of fricative sounds • Third issue: repetition of whispered sounds • Fourth issue: repetition of sonorous sounds b) Second matter: repetition of certain sound.

c) Third matter: phonetic symmetry: • First issue: rhythmic structure • Second issue: constant phonetic symmetry: meter and rhyme.

• Third issue: free phonetic symmetry: paronomasia, repetition .

• Fourth issue: motor symmetry 2) Part two: the morphological level: a) First matter: repetition of participle.

b) Second matter: repetition of irregular plural forms.

3) Part Three: the lexical level: a) First matter: the semantic fields: • First issue: the color field.

• Second issue: the place field.

b) second matter: the semantic symmetry: • First issue: simile.

• Second issue: metaphor.

c) Third matter: the semantic antithesis: metonymy.

4) Part four: the structural level: a) First matter:verbal & nominal sentences.

b) Second matter: anastrophe .

c) Third matter: apostrophe.
