Abstract EN

Investment is one of the topics that has been of interest to economists and politicians for its effective impact and its close relationship in increasing national income.

Investment is one of the factors of economic growth and its effective tool for economic development because it is of great importance in economic activity.

For production capacity, where there is no production without investment and can not be thought to increase production but increase.

The problem of the study lies in the structural imbalances and the nature of the political and economic conditions and deep roots in the local economy in the Kurdistan Region - Iraq, which created great difficulties for investment policies in achieving their economic goals.

The study aims at analyzing the role of the Investment Authority in the type and volume of investments and the relative contributions of its constituent sectors for the period (2016-2006).

As well as identifying the key factors influencing growth of the size and type of investments in the region.

In addition to exploring the future prospects for the investment climate in the region.

The percentage of investments in Arbil Governorate (55.65%) was the average of the total investments in the Region during the study period.

In Sulaymaniyah governorate, this percentage reached 31.26%.

In Dohuk governorate, the share was relatively small compared to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah This percentage (13.09%).

The reason for this is that the province of Erbil is the capital of the Kurdistan Region - Iraq and is a political and economic center in the region in general, so the focus of investments on this province.
