Abstract EN
To characterize extreme rainfall events in middle sebaou watershed, an analysis of rainfall is done for a period of more than forty years on three pluviometric stations (Tizi-Ouzou, Draa Ben Khedda and Baghlia).
In this work, we try to identify, to characterize and to quantify this climatic phenomenon, by the Precipitation Standardized Index (SPI) method, on various scales of time for three stations, having long observations periods (1968-2012).
The results shows that the most identified rainy periods, shared and extended for the delineated stations correspond to the years between 1968-1973 and 2006- 2012.
At the seasonal scale, the results indicate that the positive anomalies of the season of fall and winter are the most intense.
While on monthly scale, the largest anomalies have been recorded in the month of March and the month of May with an ISP of + 3.7 and + 3.9.
