Abstract EN

This study aim to identify the level of job satisfaction among social workers in care and protection homes in the ministry of social development, and define the impact of gender variables, years' experience and the type of institution at their level of job satisfaction.

The study relied on the social survey method in a comprehensive inventory as the most appropriate curriculum for study society which has been consisted from (56) social worker in (14) fourteen care and protection homes in the Ministry of Social Development.

The researchers applied a questionnaire consisted of (50) Paragraphs distributed to five dimensions of job satisfaction.

Simple statistical methods were used by the current study such as: Arithmetical averages, standard deviations, frequencies and percentages, advanced statistical methods such as T-test for two independent samples, and a single-variance analysis test (One-Way ANOVA) to show the differences and statistical indications and variables.

The results from this study showed that: The level of job satisfaction among social workers in care and protection homes was generally average, with a mean of (2.21), and the job satisfaction for the job dimension relations came at a high level with a mean (2.47), also according to the results of the research the other four dimensions of job satisfaction came at an average level and the lowest dimension was the job satisfaction about pay and promotion with a mean (1.89).

The study also indicated that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (a≤0.05) in the level of job satisfaction of the social workers in the care and protective homes in the Ministry of Social Development according to the different variables: gender, Number of years' experience at the institution, institution type.
