Abstract EN

This study aimed to impose a fundamental test is that the changes that are occurring in the demand for money behavior in Algeria can be explained by changes in real income and interest rates.

For it has been used a partial adjustment model, which includes four variables: interest price, real income, the demand for money for the period (t), the demand for money for the period (t-1).

The study found that real income a strong impact on the demand for money in Algeria behavior, especially in the long term.

As for interest rates, the impact of weak demand for money in Algeria behavior, both in the short term or in the long term.

Which means that real income is the primary determinant of the demand for money in Algeria.
