The research aims to determine the level of performance skills in process of teaching science to science teachers in the basic stage in the city of Erbil and does the level of performance skills to science teachers in the basic stage depending on gender, academic qualification, teaching experience? The research community consists of from all science teachers in basic stage schools in the center of the city of Erbil was numbered (132) teachers of (52) basic schools.
Research sample consisted of (26) teachers, by (10) male teachers and (16) female teachers.
These teachers were chosen randomly, taking into account the variable of sex, academic qualifications and teaching experience.
To investigate the performance of science teachers in the basic stage of the skills of teaching science adopted the direct observation method because it is more of the means by which it is based on tests of performance and behavior .The Researcher used the correlation coefficient (SCOTT) to determine the reliability of observation card and (t-test) to compare the overall average performance of teachers ,and compare the averages the performance of teachers on the scale according to the six areas of observation card and according to gender, academic qualifications and teaching experience.
The results appeared that the difference between the average degrees of performance teaching skills of science teachers on the scale as a whole and in each of the six areas of the scale was statistically significant at the level of (0.05) direction of the negative, which means that the performance skills of teaching science by teachers of science did not live up to the minimum required level of.
As for the result of the second goal did not show statistically significant differences between mean scores of male teachers and female teachers, according to the sex variable on the scale as a whole and in each of the six fields of the scale.
As for the variable qualification which showed statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores educational objectives and presentation of scientific material and the benefit of graduates of colleges bachelor degree holders and did not show differences in the other three fields.
As for the variable teaching experience showed statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of teachers of science on the scale as a whole and in three areas: planning, educational goals and learning techniques for the benefit of those who have experience of more than (10) years did not show differences in the other three areas a scientific presentation of the material and classroom management and evaluation
