Abstract EN

Eco-tourism is currently one of the fastest-growing types of tourism.

The World Environment Fund has defined ecotourism as “traveling to natural areas that have not been polluted and whose natural balance has not been disturbed, for the purpose of enjoyment”.

At the moment, the tourist sector in Saudi Arabia receives salient attention from decision-makers because of its importance for the diversification of the national economy base.

The aim of this study is to investigate the reality of eco-tourism in the Hail region in terms of its components and problems, and to measure the extent of the tourists’ awareness of the environmental behavior associated with this activity.

The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach to achieve its objectives.

The study concluded that there is a decrease in interest in the development of ecotourism resources in the region.

It recommends the necessity of developing an inclusive plan for the development of ecotourism in the region.
