The Resistance continues against the French occupation in the East Algerian since the fall of the city of Constantine in 1837, but it did not continue for many years because it was not properly structured.

The Moukranis, Spayhis and Kalpoti were the most famous resistances in the region.

These resistances Led to profound impact on the Algerian border of Tunisia, the French authorities tried to exploit this even to impose the occupation on Tunisia because Tunisia was for the Algerians a support area during armed resistance against the occupier, but the real reasons for the occupation of Tunisia are the state of weakness that was widespread in the country during the last days of the Husseini family and the colonial takeover of Tunisia by the European powers during the second half of the 19th century.
