Abstract EN

Attribution style refers to how individuals explain the causes for positive and negative events in their lives.

This refers to the person’s perception of what causes the behavior.

From this point of view there are two categories of individuals: the ones who believe that positive or negative strengthening result directly from what they are or from their own actions (the internals) and the ones who believe that positive or negative strengthening depend on external forces, independent of what they are (the externals).

Accordingly the aim of this study is to deduce the attribution style adopted by diabetics in a group composed of (306) people (male and female) with type 1 and type 2 diabetes from different regions of Algeria, based on the results obtained in the spirituality and life Orientation dimension , following the application of a lifestyle test designed in this study.

The results obtained show that: - The attribution style adopted by people with diabetes is an external attribution style.

- There are no statistically significant differences in the attribution style related to sex and type of diabetes.
