Abstract EN

This research studies the impact of ecumenical councils in the formulation of Christian creed.

It targets to explain this impact through studying The First Council of Nicea, as a model for this impact.

The analytic induction method was used in the research.

The most important conclusions of the research:  Manifesting the role played by such councils in formulating Christian creed.

 Impact of pagan philosophies and religions on Christianity.

 Impact of political authority on resolutions adopted by the ecumenical councils.

 Distortion of the Bible and loss of the original gospels.

 Contradiction of the Christian creed to reason and [religious] narrations.

 Studying each council in separate to give an almost complete picture of how the Christian creed was formed through the ages.

 The importance of spotlighting the influential rule of roman emperors on Christianity  Clarifying inter-relationship between clergymen and politicians and its impact on Christianity
