Abstract EN

This research aimed to evaluating the adoption of Porter’s generic competitive strategies: «cost leadership, differentiation strategy, focus strategies» by Algerian public commercial banks, For this reason the study adopted the descriptive analytical method using the questionnaire tool to collect the primary data from a sample that consists of some directors and employees of Algerian public banks, The results of the field study confirmed the principal hypothesis of the research which indicated that: «the Algerian public commercial banks adopt the three Porter’s generic competitive strategies from the point of view of their directors and employees», In the light of this result the study presented a set of recommendations that contribute to improve the application of Porter’s generic competitive strategy in Algerian public commercial banks.
