Abstract EN
The aim of the study was to examine the impact of collaborative teaching strategy on the development of seventh grade students’ in Islamic education.
The researcher used the semi- experimental design as collaborative teaching strategy was employed in teaching seventh grade students Islamic education.
Population sample of the study totaled 60 seventh grade students as two experimental- taught using collaborative teaching- and two control groups- taught using the traditional teaching- of seventh grade sections were selected.
The study was conducted on the sampled students in both groups.
Discrimination and difficulty coefficients were calculated for the pretest items and they indicated moderate discrimination 0.45- 0.76 and difficulty 0.40- 0.65 levels.
Results of the study showed statistically significant differences between experimental and control groups’ posttest achievement in Islamic education achievement test, in favor of experimental group.
There was a statistically significant impact 0.81 for the collaborative teaching strategy, indicating the effectiveness of the collaborative teaching in prompting seventh grade students’ achievement in Islamic education.
Several recommendations were suggested including the need for employing collaborative teaching in Islamic education and other school subject teaching.
