Abstract EN

In the light of the rapid contemporary changes, there was a need to pay attention to the sources of developing citizenship and its values, to implant a genuine citizenship and therefore preventing negative sides of globalization and its consequences .Here comes the masjid “mosque” as one of the most prominent sources of influence in the attitudes and inclinations of society.

Thus, this study aims at driving the educational role of the mosque in fostering the values of citizenship.

From this aim branch the following objectives: defining the concept of citizenship, and its most prominent values, identifying its sources, explaining in details the educational role of the mosque in the implantation of the values of citizenship .In light of the results, the study provided a set of procedural recommendations that will work on a real implanting of the values of citizenship through the mosque.
