This study aims at pursuing the kinds of parallelism in Al-sayyab's poetry, and its effect on producing semantic, surface structure, and poetic cohesion in his poem "Weapons and Children".

The study comes in two different approaches: The first course tackles the poem in terms of descriptive analysis of which it focuses on the locus and the parallelism of the outsets and the endings of the poem elements.

The second approach focuses on the deep analytical and aesthetical study of the poem that covers its most important structures of parallelism and its effects on both the surface structure and the aesthetic meanings.
