Abstract EN

This study aimed to determine the exams anxiety level of physical education students enrolled at track and field courses at Yarmouk University.

The study also sought to compare the exams anxiety according to gender and course level.

For the purposes of this study the researchers used a descriptive approach.

Study sample consisted of (214) male and female students (N = 214) enrolled at track and field courses at Yarmouk University during second semester of the academic year 2015 / 2014.

To measure the exams anxiety, the researchers used a questionnaire developed by Aspilrger and colleagues that has been translated to Arabic by Al-Hafez (1984).

The questionnaire consists of 20 items.

The study results showed a medium level of exams anxiety among the study participants.

Female students showed significantly higher levels of anxiety compared to male students.

However, no significant differences existed regarding course levels.

The researchers recommend a necessity of guiding the students and preparing them psychologically in order to reduce the anxiety level during the track and field courses.
