Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to identify the uses of the internet by faculty members at Isra’e Private University.

To achieve this task, a questionnaire has been developed after establishing its validity and reliability.

The subjects of the study were (176).

The findings of the study have shown that faculty members use internet services for communications and electronic mail, research and study, as well as for life-long learning.

The findings also showed that the responses of faculty members have been highly positive; they also indicated that the internet is helpful as a fast and less costly means.

Learning the applications of this medium is essential for a variety in methods of teaching in the presentation of the teaching material.

The results also referred to the obstacles facing faculty members, among these are; slowness in reaching the required sites and difficulty in arriving at these, and the frequency of technical defects.

Among recommendations presented are : holding in-service training programs for faculty members about effective access to required sites, necessity of up-dating computer sets, connecting computers in the faculty offices with internet services.

It is also suggested that there is a need for conducting a similar study about the uses of the internet by Isra’e private University students.
