Abstract EN

This research aims to show the semantic effect of the literal Al-Nawasikh when it precedes the nominal sentences through linking the abstract meanings and the varied contexts in which they were received.

Especially since the grammarians grouped them on the basis of grammer, not the meaning.

The study focused on Al- Shafii’s Diwan as a Model.

The Researcher followed the analysis descriptive approach, as the researcher showed the main patterns of the nominal sentences that are transformed by adding the Nawasikh.

These patterns varied according to the used Nawasikh.

After detecting each main pattern, the researcher analyzes some of the transformed sentences, highlighting the semantic effect of Al-Nawasikh.

The importance of the study lies in the fact that it orients the reader to be interested in the semantic value of these Nawasikh rather than the grammatical effect they make in a sentence, as well as on the various contexts in which these Nawasikh are used, connecting them semantically and studying them from the point of view of sociolinguistics, rather than considering their abstract meanings only.

The research concludes that the literal Al- Nawasikh have a great effect on the speakers’ semantic intention.

Thus, the researchers should therefore not only examine the grammatical effect that Nawasikh make in the nominal sentence, but rather consider their semantic value
