Effect of rheumatoid arthritis on some blood criteria for patient in province Diwaniya

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is the most common autoimmune inflammatory disease in adults (1).

Rheumatoid arthritis is also a chronic destructive inflammatory disease characterized by the accumulation and of an inflammatory infiltrate in the synovial membrane that leads to synovitis and the destruction of the joint architecture resulting in impaired its function 2.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by joint swelling, joint tenderness, and destruction of synovial joints, leading to severe disability and premature mortality 3.

The study includes thirteen (20 female and 10 male) patient with RA and (10 male and 20 female ) as the control attendants of Rheumatologic units in Al-Diwaniya Teaching Hospital of the period between January 2015 to December 2016 aged 18 to 74 years (median, 48.5 years) In the present study, significantly increased (p < 0.05) At WBC count, neutrophils, acidophil ESR, and significant decrease (p < 0.05).

These results suggest Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease, primarily located in the synovial joints, leading to the destruction of the cartilage and bone as a result of the chronic disease activity that leads into elevation in WBC, Differential WBC, ESR and Low red blood cell count and PCV, Hb.
