Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to review and assess the trends of the publishing activities in the UAE, namely among the non-profit publishing institutions.

The study followed the descriptive analytical approach.

A Ten UAE publishing institutions have been selected as a sample for the study.

Information of the study has been collected from the publication lists and the web sites of the selected institutions.

More information is collected from daily newspaper and the online catalogues of the public libraries in UAE.

The study showed some major features and trends of the publishing activities among the non-profit institutions.

The study reviewed the characteristics of the authorship, language used for publishing, number of publications, subject coverage of the published materials.

In addition, the study reviewed the impact of Translation, Awards and Cultural Competition in boosting up the publishing trends among the selected institutions.

At the end, the study provided some relevant recommendations to enhance the publishing activities in the UAE
