Abstract EN

We have attempted in this study to highlight the importance of Revenue Regulation Fund (RRF) in financing the budgetary deficit, by following the evolution of its balances and how to use them to correct the budgetary imbalances during the period 2000-2016.

We found that RRF plays an important role in maintaining financial stability of the Algerian economy.

But the growing volume of public expenditures and the unprecedented exposure of Algerian economy to the oil shock since 2014 made it faces big challenges which may determine its future if oil prices remained at their lower levels in the global markets, and the continuing in spending with such greater pace will make its balance equal to zero by the end of 2018.

For that Algeria must be more serious about rationalization its spending policies, deepening policies of economic reform, looking for alternative financing sources and following a clear strategy to diversify the economy in the framework of its new development model.
