Abstract EN

This study aimed to assess the degree of applying rational governance standards in Jordan universities.

The study population and sample are the same.

The study sample (population) Consists of University presidents, deans and their assistants and Chairman's of departments.

A questionnaire has been developed with (35) items distributed and (5) domains.

The study answered the following two questions: 1) What is the degree of applying rational governance standards of Jordan universities? 2) Are there any significant differences (&< 0.05) between the responses of sample individuals in the assessment of rational governance standards due to the variables (university, academic position, specialty, sex, and experience)? The study findings: 1) The domains: Legislations, Laws, systems and instruction got the first rank with a high degree.

The domain of making decisions got the last rank.

2) There are significant differences in the assessment of sample individuals due to the variable of Universities and the benefit of state Universities.

There are also other differences due to academic position for the benefit of higher positions.

There are no significant differences due to the variables of Sex and specialty.

The study recommends: 1) To follow up of the application of rationale governance at Jordan Universities Through laws and private Systems.

2) All individual of administrative parties process should participate in decision making in Jordan Universities.
