Abstract EN

The kurds played a clear role in the political, military, administrative and cultural areas in modern Iraqi state since its foundation in 1921 .

This article deals with the biography of khaled al-Naqshbandi (1915 – 1961) , a Kurdish personality.

And his military and administrative role .

The article begins with a topic that sheds light on his family and the social environment which effected in his social position and personal relations later.

The second topic tackled his career as an officer in the Iraqi Army and his promotions.

The third topic devoted to study his administrative career and role through the posts he held as Qaimqam (director) of many Kurdish administrative units (Qaza) between 1952 – 1957 and as a governor of Erbil governorate between 1957 – 1958, and as a member of council of state '' Majles al- Siyyada'', as a representative of the Kurdish component in Iraqi society
