Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the connotations of voluntary work in the light of the Quran, Sunnah (Hadith) and Fiqh.

The researcher followed the inductive method.The results of the study showed that the word of the volunteering in the Holy Quran and in the Hadith has legitimate connotations related to religious duties and they are organically indistinguishable between them.

Unfortunately, its features have long been overlooked from our history and distorted within the overall meaning of the duties of Kafiyyah through the doctrinal definitions developed to meet the necessities and needs other than we are exposed and facing today.

The study also revealed that the volunteer work is one of the most important good deeds in Islam rooted in the life of the prophets as well as the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), they practiced voluntary work in their lives.
