Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the reality of Chemistry syllabuses at secondary schools level.

The researchers adopted the descriptive analytical method.

Data was collected from the research sample comprising (150) teachers and supervisors by using a questionnaire for both.

The collected data were statistically analyzed using the Statistical package for social Science (SPSS).

The research concluded that the research objectives agree with the community philosophy and are characterized by reality and flexibility.

Chemistry syllabuses for die three classes of secondary' level in Sudan lack modernity and accordingly do not fulfill cognitive needs and technological developments.

There are some of scientific, linguistic, and printing errors in secondary third class Chemistry syllabus.

Current teaching methods of Chemistry are traditional and depend on theoretical explanation, listening and dictation and do not adopt the modem technologies therefore they do not match current educational trends.

According to the above mentioned findings the researchers recommended that attention should be paid to the Chemistry textbooks regarding its objectives, content, evaluation and organization of the materials according to the contemporary- standards.
