Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the differences between the Egyptian national team and the four top ranked national teams that reached the semi-finals (Volleyball World Cup - Men - 2011 - Japan) in match results, some physical measurements, physical abilities, and effectiveness of some basic skills, a survey was made along with the descriptive method, the sample was intentionally selected and it included the top four ranked teams (Russia, Poland, Brazil and Italy) in addition to the Egyptian national team, who finishied in the 12th position and the last in the overall ranking in the Men’s World Cup – 2011 – Japan, the researcher used the scientific references and the internet as data collecting tools, he also used the objective observation method for collecting data.

The effectiveness levels of basic skillful performance in volleyball which are accredited by FIVB were used.

The data was processed by SPSS to calculate the number of repititions and the percentages, to analyze the variance, the lowest significant difference, body mass index equation, body surface area equation, and effectiveness of skillful performance equation.

Most important results were that there were no significant differences between the two variables of the research sample, age and height, while there were differences between the body measurements (weight – body mass index – body surface area) among the players who represented the research sample,
