محددات ربحية القطاع المصرفي الليبي : دراسة تطبيقية على المصارف الليبية خلال الفترة (2007-2013)‎

Abstract EN

This study seeks to identify the most important factors that banks can focus on them to increase their profitability, It aims to identify the determinants of profitability of Libyan commercial banks represented in the yield on assets , based on the annual financial statements.

The study samples are four Libyan banks which are Sahara Bank, Jumhouria bank, Wahda Bank , and the National Commercial Bank for the period of 2007-2013.

Four independent the dependent variable which is the ratio of operating variables have been used to explain expenses to assets, the ratio of loans to assets, the size of the banking sector, inflation, and the rate of growth in Gross domestic product (GDP).

The study showed that the average yield on assets for all banks of the study sample was 4.5% , there is a high level of competition has led to a significant decrease in operating expenses.

As well as the study found that the existence of a fluctuation in the ratio of loans to assets, and an increase in the banking sector size , as well as in spite of the existence of the fluctuation in GDP , but the banks have maintained good rates on their performance.
