Throughout several initiatives, Algeria have been trying to lower unemployment levels by applying several “five years” development programs since 2001.

This has contributed, in fact, to lower the unemployment levels.

This paper tries to shed some light on the different development plans adopter by Algerian government in the third millennium and their impacts on the unemployment levels by using several econometric tests to study the relationship between the two variables.
