This paper is an analytical study to the most important characteristics of digital money that distinguish it from ordinary money and other electronic payment methods.

which push some of researchers to recommend the lawmakers to reconsider the penal legislations' provision to suit these new characteristic in order to preserve the principle of legality and from the other hand to ensure that perpetrators are punished The researcher reviewed the concept of digital money and its special elements that distinguish it from similar phenomena which makes the crime of assaulting digital money as double crime (financial and electronic).

Then the researcher discussed the plan of Jordanian legislator and compare it with comparative legislations in order to discover of the shortcoming of this plan.

This study was concluded by suggestions and recommendations.
