Environmental taxes is considered one of the most important economic instruments for environmental protection, due to its contribution to the rationalization of companies' economic performance by changing their behavior in the direction that preserves the environment and protects society's health.

Every company polluting the environment must pay for this pollution, then the company becomes obliged to improve its environmental and social performance to get to improve its economic performance as well.

The results of the study conducted at (TREFISOUD) company, in an attempt to highlight the impact environmental taxes has on the economic performance of companies to achieve sustainable development, indicate that the company is trying to improve its environmental performance through the adoption of many procedures that would preserve the environment .

However, the environmental taxes applied to them did not contribute to improve the environmental performance of the company as desired
