Abstract EN

Agriculture production in Algeria has decline sharply since the independence, due to several reasons, however, the main one is the weak of local investment as the economy has attempted to shift towards “heavy manufacturing”.

Therefore, Algeria’s economy today has become heavily dependent on agriculture imports.

Thus this researching paper attempts to study the importance of foreign investment to fill investment agriculture gap in Algeria.

Results indicate fail of agriculture Algerian policy in the medium-long term, poor Algerian investment climate as well.

Furthermore, FDI is the best type for food security.

The paper concludes with recommendations to foster agriculture investments that can lead to the food security in the country.
