The study aimed to identify the social and economic characteristics of youth addicted to drugs in the Addiction Treatment Center in jordan, and to identify the personal, family and society factors leading to addiction of young people to drugs, and to point out the most important proposals to address the phenomenon of addiction from the perspective of addicts.

A survey was conducted for all drug-addicted youth in the.

60 abusers were selected in a comprehensive manner during the period from 11/3/2017 to 11/4/2017.

The study concluded : The most important personal factors leading to the addiction of young people to drugs were the lack of utilization of their time in useful things , accompanying some friends who use drugs, The most important family factors leading to drug addiction are the presence of the youth in an environment where drug addiction is high, and their families exert no efforts to help them become aware of the dangers of drugs and do not give them the chance to participate in their family issues.

As for the society factors leading to drug addiction, the most prominent are the bad companions, easy access to addiction substances through promoters, economic openness, living in a neighborhood where there are many abusers, the presence of some recreational places where drugs are widespread, and leniency in applying penalties on smugglers and promoters.

The results also showed presence of statistically significant differences in the level of family factors leading to drug addiction from the point of view of addicts in the Addiction Treatment Center due to the social status of addicts (single or married).

The differences were in favor of married individuals.

The results also showed statistically significant differences in the leading environmental factors attributed to the average monthly income .This result is due to the fact that the sample of the individuals whose monthly income is less than JD 150 and the existence of statistically significant differences in the personal factors created motivation and inclination to make the young people use drugs to get rid of concerns
