Abstract EN
This study aimed to identify the multiple intelligences and personality traits that are most common among academic outstanding students in the Faculties of Sciences and Arts at AL Hussein bin Talal University (AHU) according to the variables of the faculty and the gender, The sample of the study consisted of (86) male and female students who were academic outstanding students in the arts and science faculties, They were selected randomly, and the multiple intelligences scale was applied, which was prepared by (McKenzie, 1999), Abdelgader and Abo Hashem (2007) translated and modified it to be used in Arab environment.
And list of the big five traits which was prepared by (Costa& Mc Crae, 1992), and Marabeha (2005) modified it to be used in Jordanian environment.
The results showed that the most common intelligences among academic outstanding students at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University was the personal intelligence, followed by the existential intelligence then the physical intelligence, and the Less common intelligences were the musical intelligence, then the linguistic intelligence, and lastly the natural intelligence.
While the most common type of personality was the diastolic type firstly, followed by the conscientiousness traits and the less common traits was the Empirical type followed by the approval type.
The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences in multiple intelligences with regard to linguistic and natural intelligences only.
The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences in personality traits attributed to faculty and to the scientific faculties related to the diastolic type only, While there were no statistically significant differences in multiple intelligences and personality traits due to gender.
The study concluded with a number of relevant recommendations.
