Abstract EN

The present study aimed at identifying the effect of using a strategy based on transformative learning for developing information processing and autonomy among female students at KKU.

The study was applied on two groups; an experimental group (30) students and a control group (28) students from high diploma (methods of social studies) at Faculty of Education in Abha.

The study tools were information processing skills test and autonomy scale prepared by the researcher.

The results showed statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group in information processing in general and its skills (summarizing- understanding relations and pattems-interpretation-assessing information) with high scale impact.

The results also showed statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group in autonomy.

The results revealed a positive statistically significant relationship between information processing and autonomy.
