Abstract EN

Interactivity is considered as one of the most important features that are brought about by the modem technological revolution in communication This important feature has contributed to the transfer of audio-visual media to a new and advanced stage based on openness and presentation of opinions.

It has also given the public a more active role in the communication process.

The current research aims at focusing more attention on identifying the customs and patterns of the public’s use of the websites and web pages of Arab satellite channels on social networks.

It is considered a descriptive and analytical research as it uses the survey method with its two components: surveying the public and analyzing content.

The research community consisted of the inhabitants of the Governorate of Diyala who live in six towns and who were purposively chosen (using a nonrandom approach).

The research has reached a number of important results.
