Cognitive theory is one of the latest psychological theories that have tried to benefit from recent developments in the sciences of pedagogy, neurology and anthropology, the latter has gone beyond the limitations of behavioral, structural and psychological analysis.
Where cognitive psychologists see that learning cannot be interpreted satisfactorily on the basis of conditional correlation between stimuli and responses, they see that the mind the primary learning tool, the process of cognition is the focus of learning, and an effective learner's system of energy in learning environment through the use of thinking processes Organization, awareness and insight into the relationships between the elements of the educational situation.
Cognitive theories also confirm the role of individuals ' mental activities and the knowledge and learning products that these activities entail.
Considering that the knowledge-learning outputs acquired by the individual in a situation are the most important elements of the learning process, especially since it is this knowledge that guides the new learning and defines appropriate behavioral patterns
