This study aims to evaluate the activity of the Convention of Chemical Weapons in 20 years of its establishment, and look at the strengths and shortcomings of the rules of control and inspection imposed by the regime of.the Convention.

We have concluded that there is a number of difficulties that hinder the disarmament of chemical weapons, including the high costs of the investigation and destruction, lack of confidence-building measures , the fear and the stalling when countries implement their commitments, especially with the existence of nuclear weapons with other countries, the existence of secret undeclared activities, and finally the emergence of non-governmental organizations possess chemical weapons are not subject to censorship
