Abstract EN

This study aims to discuss the Balanced Scorecard as one of the latest tools of management control system used in bank risk management.

First, we discussed the different kinds of bank risk And the reform measures of Basel Settlements I and II and Basel III, and then we moved to Balanced Scorecard as an effective modern solution, to deficiencies of management risk tools.

And from the analysis of the status of External Bank of Algeria, the study found that there are several risks and challenges facing this bank, Where traditional controls systems was unable to build a comprehensive treatment system, This requires a strategic system with a performance balanced dimensions, and according to Porter's five forces analysis and SWOT matrix, a model of a balanced scorecard has been built for the External Bank of Algeria
