Abstract EN
The aim of this paper is to examine the dimensions and determinants of social and ethical responsibility of management and investment of insurance funds used by Takaful insurance companies, after the several issues that have been raised as regards traditional insurance.
In one hand, these companies had purely commercial interests, aimed at maximizing the benefit of the company’s owners to the detriment of the benefit of the customers.
In the other hand, their systems do not conform with the ethics and principles of Islamic religion.
Therefore, it was necessary to search for alternatives that complete the rings of Islamic economics by taking into account the interests of all parties in insurance transaction and the fairer distribution of rights and duties between them.
This kind of institution is known as Takaful insurance, the Islamic insurance or cooperative insurance
