Abstract EN

This research aims at sheding light upon an important dimension in translation which governs every rendering, and which is not less important than the other dimensions; namely acculturation.

Acculturation comes out of the contact of two texts belonging to two different languages/cultures that are the source language/culture and the target language/culture.

The cultural original patterns -which characterize each ethnographic group and reflect the collective culture of its affiliated members, with its physical and sensory components, substituents, variables and properties- are subjected to influence, change and mutation because of being in touch with the other who differs.

This is what have been established by various theories of translation and its advocated trends from different intellectual backgrounds that is otherness what should draw the attention of the translator, and any translation has only a huge impact on the target audience.

Thus, it stands out the relationship of give and take within the simple realm of the translated text.

Our attempt is to simplify for the reader the essence of acculturation and its fundamentals through the most notable samples taken from history full of such examples which have managed -thanks to translation- to become worldwide models being celebrated in every time and place.
