Proverbs in Arabic are considered one of the most important literary gains all historians agree on their reliability in the heritage.

Proverbs are rather considered one of the important aspects of Arabic prose, and a reliable source used by Arabs to provide evidence for many scientific issues.

Knowledge borrows proverbs for the sake of formulating similes, argumentation, experience, situations, events, activities, and other human communication activities.

Based on this perception, the goal behind this research is to benefit from the tools of pragmatic approaches to detect the “illocutionary force in the old Arabic proverbs”.

We believe that the restoring heritage and analyzing it on the basis of modern linguistic methodology will increase its popularity among the modern innovative readers in the context of the old heritage revival and laying a foundation for the future on the basis of the past.
