Abstract EN

The study aimed at investigating the effect of the linguistic competence in improving the linguistic performance of kindergarten students in Jordan.

To achieve the purpose of the study, a test was built as an instrument of the study to measure the linguistic competence The sample of the study consists of (32) male and female students in the governmental schools at Irbid 1st Directorate.

The sample represents two groups; the control group taught by the traditional method and the experimental group taught by games which aimed at improving the linguistic competence and discovering its effect on the linguistic performance in its four fields: listening, reading, speaking and writing.

The results of the study indicate that there are significant statistical differences for the groups in favor of the means scores of the experimental group in post test at (α≤0.05).

Also, The results indicate that there are significant statistical differences between males and females in favor of males.

Finally, the results indicate that there are significant statistical differences between listening and writing in favor of listening.
