Feminism is one of the post-positivist theories.

Although feminist approaches to international relations began to appear in the eighties of the last century, feminism is an old tradition.

It has deep intellectual and policy oriented roots.

Feminist approaches are important for highlighting major shortcomings in mainstream international relations theories, by providing an alternative lens – Gender- through which to view world politics and by providing new insights on the often overlooked political, social, and economic roles that women play in international relations.

This study seeks to examine the role and the contribution of feminist approaches in international relations.
