Antiepileptic drugs have a negative impact on cognitive function in children, that is one of the indirect factors that can affect many cognitive functions specially attention and memory.

The aim of the present study was to detect the negative impact of antiepileptic drugs on cognitive function.

The study sample consisted of (10) children suffering from temporal lobe epilepsy ,aged (6-12 years), their IQ was Ranging from(98-l 14) on a scale Wechsler Intelligence for children.

The findings resulted in statistically significant differences between the averages of two measurements arranged prior and subsequent to the members of the group.
