Background & Objective: With the development of nickl-titanium alloy in endodontic instruments world ,many of studies were done about it and about new cleaning and shaping systems which reduce the time and work of the clinician Aim of this study was to compare between Protaper, Twisted file as preparation systems in root canal curvature change and the time needed.
The sample consisted of 24 canal of 12 upper premolar of freshly extracted human teeth .after cleaning and sterilized them, they put in 10%formalin solution.
Each tooth was put in the center of the sample of acrylic and took pre-and post-instrumentation radiographs from misiao-distal and bucco- lingual positions for each tooth to evaluate the change of root canal curvature were instrumented with ProTaper and Twisted File rotary instruments.
The time working was also evaluated.
We wrote the results in special tables for analyses; all data were analyzed by means of the Student´s T-test at 95% level of trust The results showed that no statistical differences between TF and Protaper on root canal curvature, the change was less with TF, the TF system was faster in preparation and there were no fractured or distorted instrument with two systems.
Conclusion: Both rotary systems showed minimal changes in the original root canal curvature.
And the uses of TF system was faster in preparation.
