The sequestering powers of the following builders: lacto bionic acid, citric acid and its trisodium salt, pentasodiumtripolyphosphates, sodium salt of 1- hydroxy ethane diphosphonic acid (HEDP), sodium poly acrylate, and nitrilotriacetic acid(NTA) have been investigated in the presence of low concentrations of the following alkaline builders: sodium carbonate, hydrous sodium meta silicate(water glass), sodium borate and ammonium oxalate.
The sequestering powers of the investigated builders dramatically changed by changing the concentration of alkaline builders.
As this change in the sequestering power ranged between 315-1448 times, therefore it can be used to decrease the dosage of home laundry powder per wash cycle
