Charles Gidz states that since the outbreak of the Algerian revolution, there were few of US citizens who believed, because of their convictions, in the right of oppressed peoples to revolt against colonial rules and the need to grant the Algerians the right to self-determination, on the hand a number of other Americans denounced only the wave of oppressions that had been carried out by the French forces toward the Algerian revolution.
