Abstract EN

This study included 91 of third ventricle tumors treated between the years of 2000 and 2009.

The age of the patients was between 2-63 years with, mean age of 24.4 years.

Females constituted 43.7% of the sampu while males constituted 56.3% .

Disturbance of vision and raised of intracranial pressure dominated the clinical picture presenting in 90% of cases.

MRI was performed in all patients, CT was performed in54.5% of cases.

,The operating microscope and ultrasonic aspirator were used in 60.5% of the cases, 39.5% of tumors were removed using the classical methods.

Clinical improvement was seen in 77% 0f patients while deterioration was in 11.5% , chemical meningitis was in 3.8% .

Mortality was 24% , and the cuase of death was the hormonal disturbance pulmonary embolism and digestive heamorrhage
