Many scholars have been working on this subject for a long time.

In the modern period, many chapters are included mainly the Arab-Islamic thought, the self-intellectual identity, using e different approaches and scientific tools, mainly from the western civilization.

In addition, thought is only the product of reality and the different - the historical dimension and the history of thought - as a result of a series of successive changes, resulting and leading to different reactions, either "extremist, conservative, reformist Or even the establishment of the critical thinking which have developed in the second half of the twentieth century to criticize the fundamentalist religious thought, Sadiq Jalal Azm, Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid, Mohammed Arkoun and others.

The Hermeneutic approach is one of the modern approaches within the social and human sciences that exist in the Arab Islamic field within all kinds of intellectual currents consciously or unconsciously as a practice because the interpretation is an infinite process of negotiation of the meaning within the interest of studying the links between religion, society, thought, and history.

Because the human social phenomenon is complex, it must be studied in a complex way.
