Abstract EN

Most of the specialists in the field of Andalusian studies have turned a blind eye to (the Mortsekian poetry).

They ignore it in the sense to be considered as part of the Andalusian literature.

It is that type of poetry which the Andalusian Muslims have left after the surrender of the kingdom of Grenada to the power of the Catholic king and queen (Ferdinand and Elizabeth), although the Mortskian literature continues up to the time of the final decision of deportation between (1609 – 1612).

The reason behind what is said about the researcher's neglecting is, perhaps, because they have no acquaintance of the studies of the Spanish orientationers especially their investigations of the Mortsekian heritage through the scriptures they have.

However, the Spanish orientationers give raw materials for further research projections.

The Mortsekian literature contains a huge amount of poetry and prose by which they reflect their suffering (christianizing, deportation, killing,… etc.) after the fall of Grenada in 1492.

They express through the literary texts their adherence to the Islamic identity and Arabic language.

Hopefully, this period of history should be added to the (Andalusian literature) in order to make the whole picture of the Andalusian society clearer, i.e., from the age of conquer in 711 up to their final dilemma
